What is Annapurna Scheme
Under the Annapurna Scheme, women entrepreneurs are provided loans up to 50,000 for the Food Catering business. The amount can be used for utensils, cutlery, gas connection, refrigerator, mixer cum grinder, hot case, pot stand, tiffin box, working table, water filter etc. A guarantor is required to take a loan. Also, the assets of the business have to be pledged as collateral. Once approved, it will have to be repaid in 36 monthly installments. The rate of interest is determined on the basis of the bank concerned.

Under this scheme, 10 kg of food grains are provided to the applicant every month. These rations are distributed by Gram Sabha and Gram Panchayat. Some conditions will also have to be followed to take advantage of the scheme. For this, the applicant should not have any other income source. Otherwise such women will not be considered eligible for this.
