Earlier this facility was provided by banks between fixed periods, but now in the period of digitization, now the bank is going to do real time gross settlement (RTGS) for 24 hours every day from tomorrow i.e. December 14. The good thing is that now you will be able to do large transactions sitting at home through RTGS. For this you will not even need to go to a bank branch.
According to the Reserve Bank, RTGS service will be available 24 hours from midnight of December 14 at 12:30 pm. By doing this, India will join those selected countries in the world, where such large transactions take place 24 hours. It is known that more than Rs 2 lakh amount can be transferred through RTGS. It can be used both online and through bank branches. At the same time, online transaction of up to Rs 2 lakh can be done from NEFT, another service to transfer money.
No fee will be levied on online fund transfer
RTGS is the fastest money transfer service. About 237 banks across the country complete transactions worth Rs 4.17 lakh crore daily through this system. There is no extra charge for transferring money from one bank to another bank account online. While transferring funds from RTGS to the bank branch will require a fixed fee.
