PM SVANidhi: Soon the days of street vendors will change, the government will give 10 thousand rupees for work
new Delhi. Many people have become unemployed due to the lockdown. The biggest impact has been on the daily earners. In such a situation, the government has come up with a special scheme for Street Vendors. Under which they will be given 10 thousand rupees to start the work. Also, they will be provided a loan at a cheaper rate. So far, about 1.54 lakh applicants had applied to take advantage of this scheme. Out of which loans have been sanctioned to 48,000 street vendors. This information has been provided by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (HUA).
The government has started this scheme from June 1 to resume their livelihood to the street vendors affected by the killing of COVID-19. The name of this scheme is Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi- PM SVANidhi. Under this, they will be provided cheaper loan. The benefit of this scheme will be given to 50 lakh people who hail from street rickshaws on or before March 24 this year.
This is how you will get benefits
Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor Self-Reliant Fund Scheme will benefit the urban areas, people living in remote areas and people in rural areas. Under this scheme, people who are street vendors can take loans up to Rs 10,000. They will have to repay this loan in monthly installments in a year. The government has put a total amount of Rs 5000 crore in this scheme for street vendors. The good thing is that the street vendors will not have to follow any condition to take advantage of this scheme.
How to apply
The Secretary of Housing and Urban Affairs informed that a mobile app has been launched for this scheme. Hence, people with street tracks can apply for loans through this app. Apart from this, a web portal has also been launched by the Ministry on 29 June. Residents can apply online from there as well. They will have to register themselves. In this, they have to tell about their business. Also, you have to give your basic information. If all the things are found according to the standard, they will get the benefit of the scheme.
