Leading stock index Sensex jumped over 200 points in early trade on Thursday led by gains in big stocks like Reliance Industries, Infosys and HCL Tech amid a positive trend in global markets. The metal index has seen a rise of 1 percent in early trade. At the same time, today there is talk of IPO of Tatva Chintan Pharma. The shares of the company are listed on BSE today. Share price jumps 95% on debut Listed at a price of Rs 2,111.80 per share.
At 11.07 in the morning, the Sensex has increased by 264.62 points i.e. 0.50%, the index was trading at 52,708.33. During this, Nifty had reached the level of 15,791.95 with a jump of 82.55 points or 0.53%.
In the opening, the 30-share BSE index was trading 224.95 points or 0.43 per cent higher at 52,668.66, while the broader NSE Nifty rose 62.05 points or 0.39 per cent to 15,771.45.
HCL Tech was the top gainer in the Sensex with a gain of two per cent, while Titan, Tech Mahindra, M&M, Asian Paints, Reliance Industries and IndusInd Bank were also among the gainers. On the other hand, Maruti, Bajaj Auto, HDFC and PowerGrid saw a decline.
In the previous session, the Sensex closed 135.05 points or 0.26 per cent lower at 52,443.71, while the Nifty lost 37.05 points or 0.24 per cent to end at 15,709.40.
Meanwhile, international oil benchmark Brent crude rose 0.30 per cent to $74.09 per barrel.
