Stock Market: Major stock index Sensex (Sensex) climbed over 300 points in early trade on Monday led by gains in big stocks like HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Kotak Bank amid positive trend in foreign funds and global markets. During this, the 30-share index was trading 315.89 points or 0.52 per cent higher at 61,002.58. Similarly, the NSE Nifty rose 90.30 points or 0.50 per cent to reach 18,193.05.

The biggest gain of one percent in the Sensex happened in Titan. Apart from this, ITC, IndusInd Bank, Kotak Bank, M&M, Asian Paints and HDFC Bank were also trading with gains. On the other hand, Bharti Airtel, Tech Mahindra, HDFC and Tata Steel declined. The Sensex had closed 767 points or 1.28 per cent higher at 60,686.69 in the previous session. Similarly, Nifty rose 229.15 points or 1.28 per cent to reach 18,102.75.
According to provisional data of the stock market, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth Rs 511.10 crore on a gross basis on Friday. Meanwhile, international oil benchmark Brent crude fell 0.89 percent to $ 81.44 a barrel.
