Post her last stint on the reality television show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’, actress Tanishaa Mukherji has taken a break from her routine and has engrossed in redecorating her family house in Lonavala. During this hectic schedule, she does not forget to seize time for her fitness regime.
Very few people are aware that apart from acting and theatre, it’s gardening that interests Tanishaa. As she shares vast knowledge about plants, she looks after all the plants in her house and cottage regularly.
During the weekends, Tanishaa, along with her mother Tanuja, take short getaways for designing the family house. Instead of hiring an interior designer, the actress preferred to design the house herself.
Sharing her experience as an interior designer, the 35-year-old actress said, “My family had purchased this land over 70 years ago and built a pretty cottage. It’s my home away from home. I wanted to revamp it but keeping the rustic old touch unharmed. I’m looking after the intricate details in restoring the family heritage by playing with modern day furniture concepts and keeping the retro feel intact.” The actress has been enjoying the entire redo process and even tagged it as a learning experience.
The actress, who plays the role of a journalist in her upcoming Anna Hazare biopic, emphasizes that every household should do their bit to save the environment. “I’ve started rainwater harvesting at my place and I am also getting solar panels installed. I think we owe this much to the environment.”
