Income Tax Return: The government said on Thursday that the income tax return (Income Tax Return) The deadline for filing has been extended till December 31. In view of the Corona epidemic, earlier in May it was extended till 30 September. The Finance Ministry issued a statement saying that the CBDT has extended the due dates for filing income tax returns and various audit reports for the year 2021-22. Considering the difficulties reported by taxpayers and other stakeholders in filing of Income Tax Returns and various reports of audit for the assessment year 2021-22 under the Income Tax Act, 1961 (“the Act”), the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has decided to further extend the due dates for filing of income tax returns and various audit reports for the year 2021-22.

The due date for furnishing the return of income for the year 2021-22 has been extended to December 31. Earlier the last date was extended from 31 July 2021 to 30 September 2021.

The due date for submission of report from an accountant by persons entering into international transactions or specified domestic transactions has been extended to 31 January 2022. Earlier it was increased from 31 October 2021 to 30 November 2021.
