Twitter tries out video once more, this time with vertical scrolling.

On its official blog, Twitter revealed that it will start rolling out a new method to view videos.

No, Twitter won't begin promoting short films like to those on TikTok in the same manner that Instagram did with Reels or YouTube did with Shorts.

Instead, just one component of short form video will be required, making it simpler to find video content on the platform

A new "immersive media viewer" that will play videos in a new full screen perspective is being introduced by Twitter.

By just touching or opening a video from a Tweet, you may view this. If viewers want to find more visual information, they can swipe up from any video. You can return to your Twitter feed by exiting the window.

Additionally, Twitter will add additional video content to the Explore tab of the app. Under "Videos for you," users will now get a new video carousel along with relevant Tweets.

Over the following several days, iOS users who use English-language Twitter will start to receive the immersive media viewer.

English-speaking Android and iOS users may now access the video carousel in the Explore tab.

Twitter's last attempt to add video was unsuccessful. In November 2020, Twitter introduced Fleets, only to abandon it around eight months later.

It doesn't appear that Twitter is attempting to alter its content strategy with this revelation and force its users to produce short-form video as Instagram did.

It won't change its emphasis from video; rather, it will only make it simpler to locate and interact with videos.
