Giving this information, Union Communications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the cabinet has approved the auction for frequency band of 700, 800, 900, 1800, 2100, 2300 and 2500 MHz. This auction of spectrum will be done for validity of 20 years.
About 4 lakh crore rupees will be auctioned
A total of more than Rs 3.92 lakh crore of 2251.25 MHz will be auctioned. Prasad said that notices will be issued this month to invite applications for spectrum auction. He said that it is proposed to conduct the auction of these spectrum by March 2021. The minister also informed that the Cabinet Committee on Security has approved the National Security Directive (NSD) on the telecommunications sector.

The last auction was four years ago
He said that the previous spectrum was allotted four years ago. Therefore, with the passage of four years, the need was felt by the industry. Prasad said that the terms of the next spectrum auction will be the same as in the 2016 auction.
