At the same time, tax expenditure can be increased in medical expenses, health and life insurance. Experts in pharma and health care sector say that India will emerge as a world pharmacy if research and development and innovation are emphasized.

Sudarshan Jain, general secretary of the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA), said that if the pharma industry is focused on R&D, health startups and innovation, India can become a world medical hub.
Dr. Amol Naikwadi, joint managing director of Indus Health Plus, says that government spending should increase for the prevention of infectious and non-infectious diseases. Technology and infrastructure for telemedicine, digital healthcare system, online medicine and treatment facilities should be given attention so that health services can be delivered to remote areas easily.
