Kejriwal government has announced a loan of up to 20 thousand rupees to speed up economic activities and help the street vendors. Under this scheme, those selling vegetable-fruit and roadside goods will be included. This decision was taken in the meeting of SC, ST and Majority Corporation of Delhi Government. Currently there are about 5 lakh street vendors in Delhi. But only 1.3 lakh of them are registered. In such a situation, only the registered street vendors will get the benefit of the scheme.
How will you get benefits
To take advantage of this scheme of Delhi government, it is necessary for street vendors to be registered. The loan will be provided by Delhi SC, ST, OBC, Minority and Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation i.e. DSFDC. In this, a loan of up to 20 thousand rupees will be made available to them at a very low interest rate. With this, they will not have to take loans from private moneylenders.
Central government self-funding scheme
The central government is also running a scheme for street vendors. It is called PM Swanidhi Yojana. Under this, loans are being given to street vendors up to 10 thousand rupees. The conditions for this are very simple. There is no need of guarantee in this either.
