Due to the reduction, the rate of petrol in Delhi had come down from Rs 110 per liter to Rs 103 per liter. However, there is a demand from the opposition party BJP in Delhi that the Delhi government should reduce VAT on petroleum products. Similarly, the demand for reducing VAT is being raised in many other states. At the same time, the ruling and opposition parties are at loggerheads over this issue.
