Share Market Today: Domestic stock markets gained momentum, Nifty around 15,700, Sensex also jumped

The stock market rose on the day of weekly expiry, Nifty returned to the level of 15,700.

Stock Market Updates : Domestic stock markets got the support of global markets on the day of weekly expiry on Thursday. Today, both the benchmark indices are trading with a bullish momentum in the early trade. Nifty is moving around the level of 15,700 with a jump. Today the market has gained momentum from the shares of power companies.

The Sensex was at the level of 52,149.29 at 10.38 am, the index had registered a gain of 207.65 points i.e. 0.40%. During this, Nifty was trading at the level of 15,706.15 with an increase of 70.80 points i.e. 0.45%.

Apart from this, Sensex gained over 150 points during early trade on Thursday due to gains in big stocks like Reliance Industries, Infosys and HDFC Bank. During this, the 30-share BSE index was trading 160.07 points or 0.31 per cent higher at 52,101.71. Similarly, Nifty rose 58.75 points or 0.38 per cent to 15,694.10.

The biggest gain of two percent in the Sensex was in PowerGrid. In terms of gains, it was followed by ITC, Tech Mahindra, IndusInd Bank, NTPC, Sun Pharma and Dr Reddy’s. On the other hand, Bajaj Auto, Asian Paints, Maruti and Nestle India saw a decline.

In the previous session, the Sensex was down 333.93 points or 0.64 per cent at 51,941.64 and the Nifty was down 104.75 points or 0.67 per cent at 15,635.35. According to provisional data of the stock market, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 846.37 crore on a gross basis on Wednesday. International oil benchmark Brent crude was trading 0.72 per cent lower at $71.70 per barrel.
