Amazon India launches free video streaming service on its shopping app

Amazon India on Saturday said that it has launched a new free video streaming service “MiniTV” in India, which is its first such service in the world. Through MiniTV, users can view websites, technology related news, catering, beauty and fashion including specially prepared content related to others. MiniTV will be available on Amazon’s shopping app and ads will also be shown on it.

The company said in a statement, “MiniTV will be featuring professionally crafted content related to webseries, comedy programs, technology news, catering, beauty, fashion and more. With the introduction of MiniTV, AmazonDoin shopping app customers will be introduced. “Of millions of products, it will be the only place to buy, pay and watch entertainment videos for free.”

The company said that MiniTV will be available for now only on Android phones on Amazon’s shopping app and will also be made available on iOS app and mobile web in the coming months. With the introduction of this service, Amazon is providing two video streaming services in India – MiniTV and Prime Video.
