Share Market: Sensex-Nifty lost early gains amid flat trading, BSE Smallcap shares at record high

Flat trading in the stock market today, BSE Smallcap index all-time high.

Stock Market Updates : There was a good opening in the domestic stock markets today after getting a positive trend from the global markets, but the markets could not maintain this growth. By afternoon, flat trading started amid volatility in the market. At the same time, both the benchmark indices lost early gains. However, the record high level has been recorded in the smallcap index on the BSE.

There was flat trading in the market till 12 noon. At 11.57, the Sensex was trading at 52,881.93 level by registering a gain of 29.66 points or 0.056%. There was a jump of 17.25 points or 0.11% in Nifty and the index was at the level of 15,841.70. The BSE Smallcap index reached 26,727.94 with a jump of 213.00 points or 0.80% at 12.01 am.

If we look at the opening, the Sensex climbed over 150 points in early trade on Tuesday due to gains in big stocks like HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Tata Steel. During this period, the index was trading 155.51 points or 0.29 percent higher at 53,007.78, while the Nifty rose 48.15 points or 0.30 percent to 15,872.60.

The biggest gain of one percent in the Sensex was in Tata Steel. Apart from this, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, IndusInd Bank, Maruti, Titan and SBI were also among the top gainers. On the other hand, Axis Bank, L&T, HCL Tech, Nestle India and HDFC were trading in the red mark. Meanwhile, international oil benchmark Brent crude rose 0.41 per cent to $74 a barrel.
