If we talk about the last trading session, after the boom of the last three trading sessions, the market fell due to profit booking of investors. The biggest impact of selling was on the stocks of banks and financial companies. According to traders, a weak trend in global markets and a fall in the exchange rate of the rupee against the US dollar also supported the sell-off. The Sensex was down 290.69 points, or 0.58 percent, to end at 49,902.64 points, and the Nifty fell 77.95 points, or 0.52 percent, to close at 15,030.15 points.
